About AFST(I), Hyderabad Chapter
AFST (I), Hyderabad Chapter was founded in the year 1973-74. Hyderabad chapter is one of the oldest chapters of AFST(I) and is an active chapter with around 100 members from various food industries, academia and research organizations including student members pursuing higher studies in Food Science and Technology. The chapter conducts monthly lectures by eminent speakers in the field of Food Science and Technology. The chapter celebrates World Food Day (WFD) on the 16th of October every year by organizing one day seminar with the focal theme announced by the Food and Agriculture Organization, Rome with essay writing competition for students on the FAO announced theme and gives opportunity for three oral presentation and all students will be given participation certificates and winners are provided with cash prizes. The chapter felicitates one or two outstanding AFST(I) members from Hyderabad chapter for their contribution in the area of Food Science and Technology every year. Quiz programmes were also organized for the students pursuing degree in Food Science and Technology. Winners are provided cash prizes and participants with certificates.
