The AFSTI Delhi Chapter, in collaboration with the Department of Life Sciences (Food Science and Technology) at Sharda School of Basic Sciences and Research, Sharda University, Greater Noida, marked World Food Day 2024 on October 19th at the APJ Abdul Kalam Auditorium.
Dr. Shalini Sehgal, Professor at Delhi University and Immediate Past President of the AFSTI Delhi Chapter, delivered the keynote address on "Creating a Sustainable Food Future towards Zero Hunger." Students from Sharda University showcased posters and innovative food products based on the World Food Day theme, along with engaging in reel-making sessions and presentations.
A notable part of the event was the Curtain Raiser for the 30th ICFoST-24 in Mumbai, with President of AFSTI Delhi Chapter, FT Dinkar B. Kamble, sharing insights into AFSTI’s national activities and the upcoming convention. Esteemed guests, including Prof. R.C. Kuhad (Former Vice-Chancellor, Haryana Central University), Prof. Shyamal Kumar Banerjee (Dean, SSBSR, Sharda University), and other faculty members, graced the occasion.
The event was expertly moderated by Dr. Anamika Mehta from Sharda University, with special coordination by Dr. Sujata Pandit Sharma and Dr. Dinkar B. Kamble. Thanks were extended to Dr. Dipti Sharma, Vice-President of AFSTI, Dr. Savita Rani and Dr. Ranjana Pande for her support in making the event a success.
The celebration highlighted the importance of networking among food professionals to advance food technology, nutritional awareness, and innovation in the industry.
