The AFSTI Delhi Chapter and the NIFTEM Chapter jointly organized the Dr. Amla B. L. Memorial Lecture at SRM University, Delhi-NCR Campus, Sonipat. Brigadier S.K. Kaushik, Brigadier Food Inspection, Quarter Master General Branch, Army HQ, delivered an engaging lecture on the theme "Rediscovering Food as Medicine: What's the New Evidence?"

Event Highlights:

• Dr. Nilesh Amritkar, President of AFSTI, opened the event with a welcome address and an overview of AFSTI's activities. He also invited attendees to participate in ICFoST 2024, scheduled to be held in Mumbai.
• Prof. Paramjit S. Jaswal, Vice-Chancellor of SRM University, emphasized the significance of food in maintaining health and expressed interest in formalizing a collaboration between SRM University and AFSTI through an MoU.
• Prof. V. Samuel Raj, Registrar of SRM University, shared his perspectives, adding to the intellectual discourse of the event.
• Dr. Naveen Shivanna, Hon. Secretary of AFSTI Headquarters, provided an introduction to the lecture series and the speaker, Brigadier S.K. Kaushik.
• FT Dinkar B. Kamble, President of AFSTI Delhi, concluded the event with a vote of thanks.

The session was moderated by Ms. Swarnima Dey, Assistant Professor at SRM University, and coordinated by Dr. Yogesh Kumar, Ph.D., ensuring the event's success.

Participation and Invitation:
The event saw active participation from students and faculty of SRM University and members of AFSTI Delhi and NIFTEM. A courtesy visit was made post-event, during which Dr. Harinder Oberoi, Director of NIFTEM, was formally invited to the 30th ICFoST in Mumbai.
