AFSTI Delhi Chapter Hosts General Body Meeting to Plan 2025 Activities

New Delhi, January 11, 2025: 

The General Body Meeting (GBM) of the AFSTI Delhi Chapter was held at Engineers Bhawan, Institute of Engineers, New Delhi, under the leadership of Dr. Dinkar B. Kamble, President, AFSTI Delhi. Eight distinguished members, including academic experts and industry leaders, participated in the meeting.

The meeting commenced with a welcome address by Dr. Kamble, who reviewed the chapter's activities from September 2024 to date, including seminars, World Food Day celebrations, and collaborative efforts with key stakeholders like FSSAI and NIFTEM.

Key decisions for 2025-26 include:

  • Organizing a Start-up Conclave on February 22, 2025, to connect budding entrepreneurs with industry experts.
  • Conducting World Food Safety Day (June 7) and World Food Day (October 16) events.
  • Launching monthly webinars in collaboration with AFSTI Guntur Chapter to bridge the gap between academia and industry.
  • Expanding collaborations with universities and industry associations, with ongoing discussions for MoUs.
  • Exploring training modules and certifications for professionals and students.

Financial matters were also discussed, with plans to update dormant bank accounts and open a current account for smoother operations.

In closing, Prof. M.K. Salooja suggested launching a chapter newsletter, and members emphasized the importance of digital engagement and research on Indian traditional food practices.

The meeting concluded with a vote of thanks by the President, setting the stage for an ambitious year ahead for the AFSTI Delhi Chapter.
