Thrissur Chapter organised a Quiz competition in Food and Nutrition to HS students in Kerala, consecutively for the 26th year in connection with the World Food Day. A preliminary round was conducted online in zoom on 9th Oct 2021 for the selection of six teams for the final round on 16th Oct 2021 at Mannuthy.  The final round was conducted physically with the teams and online for the public. Dr Justin Davis, and Dr Biya Ann Joseph, Assistant Professors in the Kerala Veterinary & Animal Sciences University were the Quiz Masters.

The Vice Chancellor of KVASU, Prof. (Dr.) M. R. Saseendranath inaugurated the public function after the Quiz and delivered the World Food Day message and announced the results of the competitions. The First Prize Cash Award Rs 5,000/ was bagged by Miss. Swathykrishna, Govt Higher Sec School, Kasaragod, Second Prize Cash Award Rs 3,000/ to Vaibhav Swaroop of Rani Public School, Vadakara, Kozhikode and the Third Prize Cash Award Rs 2,000/ to Anirudh G Menon, Chinmaya Vidyalaya, Kolazhy, Thrissur. The Cash Awards and Merit Certificates were distributed by the Vice-Chancellor.

In the public function, Dr Sujith S. Assistant Professor, Dept of Veterinary Pharmacology and Toxicology, Kerala Vety & Animal Sciences University delivered a public awareness lecture on the Health Hazards of Plastics in Food Industry, for the public, faculty and students, online.  Dr. Sathian C. T, Professor & Head, Dept of Dairy Science, KVASU and Vice-President of the Chapter welcomed the gathering.  Dr P. I Geevarghese, the Founder President of the Chapter and Dr. George. T. Oommen, President of the Chapter felicitated the function and congratulated the winners.  Dr. Irshad A, Secretary and General Convener proposed vote of thanks.
