AFST(i) Pune Chapter Hosts Food Safety Awareness Program at MIT ADT University

The Pune Chapter of the Association of Food Scientists and Technologists (India) [AFST(i)] successfully conducted a Food Safety Awareness Program on June 7th at MIT ADT University, Pune. The event was graced by distinguished guests, including Dr. Krishna Methekar, Joint Director of FSSAI (Western Region), Mumbai, who served as the Chief Guest, and Mrs. Smita Murthy, Co-founder of The Fat Labrador Foods LLP, who was the Guest of Honor.

The program aimed to raise awareness about the critical importance of food safety in today's rapidly evolving food industry. Dr. Methekar emphasized the role of regulatory bodies like FSSAI in ensuring the safety and quality of food products available to consumers. Mrs. Murthy shared her experiences in the food industry, highlighting the challenges and responsibilities that come with maintaining high food safety standards in entrepreneurial ventures.

The event was well-attended by students, faculty, and industry professionals, all of whom left with a deeper understanding of the importance of food safety practices.
