World Food Day 2025 @ Karunya Institute of Technology & Sciences, Coimbatore

In observance of World Food Day 2025, we are delighted to announce the inaugural edition of NUTRIVORA 2025 – National Food Hackathon, a hybrid innovation challenge that invites young minds to Ideate. Innovate. Implement.  Organized by the ESSENZZ – Association of Food Engineers, Karunya Institute of Technology & Sciences, in association with AFST(I) – Coimbatore Chapter, this hackathon serves as a launchpad for entrepreneurial journeys in food technology and sustainability.

Participants across UG, PG, and PhD levels are invited to present impactful, scalable, and sustainable solutions in three key verticals:

• Smart Packaging – biodegradable, compostable & intelligent solutions

• Valorisation of Waste – turning by-products into value-added food or compounds

• Digitizing Food Systems – IoT, AI & blockchain for supply chains & traceability

• Registration closes: 7th October 2025

• Bootcamp + Quiz + Abstract Submission: 9th October 2025

• Finals + Seminar (2 days physical): 10th October 2025

 National Seminar
As part of the celebrations, the Division of Food Processing Technology and Institute Innovation Council will host a National Seminar on “Innovation in Food Industry R&D: Opportunities and Challenges for Future Professionals”on 10th October 2025 (2:15–4:00 PM), featuring a lecture by Mr. Sriram K, Section Manager – Global Process R&D, Mondelez International.
